ABOUT US

        Sawaiom Fresh Farm a Unit of Sawaiomagro & Allied Products is a unique farm located at SohryngkhamVillage, Lulong, East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya, India. Run by like-minded members having the same ideas and objectives about scientific fish farming & scientific agriculture. We at Sawaiom we believe in sustainability, food safety & food security and marrying aquaculture & agriculture into one. Design by Sawaiomagro along with Sawaiom Hydroponics from Shillong for the first time, we will be able to bring the technology gap closer in the field of aquaculture & agriculture in the State of Meghalaya. This technology helps conserve land & water without compromising the high sustainability production of residue free fish & leafy greens at almost 100% yield.

         Demand for fish protein is on the increase due to population growth and is putting more pressure on both marine and freshwater stocks. More than 33% of the ocean, rivers, lakes, streams fishing is fully exploited. Aquaculture, the farming of aquatic organisms for profit, is the only way to meet this growing demand for fish in Meghalaya. Currently, our State is Importing 15,000 metric tons of fish annually from other States which is accounted for. By inculcating this practice, we believe that the Import % of fish can be brought down in the 5-10 years, thereby becoming surplus production and self-sufficient.

        At Sawaiom Fresh Farm we will consistently produce quality & quantity food all year round with 3 to 4 times harvest in a controlled environment, our fish are chemical free & disease free by following proper biosecurity protocol with slim % of mortality rate. The fish waste is not wasted instead we use as fertilizers to our leafy greens on a soilless platform DWC or NFT which in turn gives us high quality, nutritious greens to local communities for healthy consumption throughout the year.

       Our aim is to become self-sufficient in surplus production of healthy, residue free fish & leafy greens in the next 5 to 10 years and at Sawaiom Fresh Farm we strongly believe we can make that happen.
